Dare to Lead™ Three Day Training

April 16 @ 3:00 pm - April 18 @ 5:00 pm

CA$1,495.00 - CA$2,595.00

Looking for workplace training that qualifies for the Canada-Alberta Job Grant? This 21 hour program will launch you and, potentially your team, into new capacity for brave and kind conversations, trust, creativity, resilience and so much more!

Leadership is not about titles or the corner office. It’s about the willingness to step up, put yourself out there, and lean into courage. The world is desperate for braver leaders. It’s time for all of us to step up.

This is a curriculum for developing brave leaders and courageous cultures. It’s learning and practice that requires brave work, tough conversations, and truly showing up. Daring leadership is a collection of four skill sets that are 100% teachable.

Dr. Brené Brown, a research professor at the University of Houston and four-time New York Times best-selling author, spent years researching leadership and organizational cultures.

Based on her research, Brené developed Dare to Lead™ – an empirically based courage-building program. Brené wrote in her 2018 book Dare to Lead, “There was one answer across the interviews: We need braver leaders and more courageous cultures.”Dare to Lead includes facilitation, self-reflection, practical activities, and short videos hosted by Brené on the four teachable, observable, and measurable courage skill sets:

• Rumbling with Vulnerability

• Living into our Values

• Braving Trust

• Learning to Rise

Daring leaders are self-aware, know how to have hard conversations, hold themselves and others accountable, build trust, lead with empathy and connection, take smart risks that lead to innovation, reset quickly after disappointments and setbacks, and give and receive feedback – especially when it’s tough.

In this three day workshop, come discover:

  • Why vulnerability (Uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure) is the foundational skill set of courage.

  • The critical role that self-awareness plays in daring leadership.

  • That it’s armour—not fear—that is the greatest obstacle to daring leadership.

  • The four skill sets that makeup courage: rumbling with vulnerability, living into our values, BRAVING trust, and learning to rise.

  • That courage is a collection of four skill sets that are measurable, observable, and teachable.

  • That vulnerability is the birthplace of many of the behaviours that define daring leadership including creativity, accountability, and difficult conversations.

  • That vulnerability is the birthplace of many of the behaviours that define daring leadership including creativity, accountability, and difficult conversations.

  • That daring leadership requires showing up for hard conversations and rumbles, including giving and receiving feedback.

  • Different ways shame can show up in organizations.

  • The components of empathy and common barriers to empathy that can interfere with meaningful connection.

  • Your core values and identifying the behaviours that support those values.

  • That trust is a combination of observable behaviours using the BRAVING acronym.

  • That recognizing emotion plays a key role in the skill set of learning to rise.

  • That making up stories in the absence of data drives unproductive behaviour.
